Yes, I would. The main "why" is simple: we have terribly deficient infrastructure in our city. Our sewer system is outmoded and overburdened, and it is the most visible weak link. But many of our bridges are also in poor repair, as well as streets and roadways. Estimates are that about 30% of the tax is paid by tourists anyway: they are literally paying for the pleasure of visiting our area. And for that, we should be thankful. The tax has been in place since 1989, and is not a new concept. Lots of good has been done with the monies, and hopefully it will continue on that way.
